One of the 1988 Generation Students, Hla Myo Naung arrested today on the way to clinic for his eyes treatment. His eyes were seriously injured by USDA members during the recent fuel hike protest. Hla Myo Naung, in his late 30s, suffers from a ruptured cornea and his doctor says he will lose the sight in one eye unless the condition is surgically treated. He was arrested and sentenced for two times in the past for involving anti-military protests and campaigns, and this is the third time arrested by Burma Military Junta. Still some 1988 Generation student members have been hiding inside Burma. A young woman had been with him was also arrested.

An active member of Aung San Suu Kyi's opposition party in Burma has died under interrogation, as the crackdown against last month's protests continues.

Win Shwe, a 42-year-old member of the National League for Democracy was arrested with five colleagues on September 26, the day the junta began to put down the demonstrations.

According to a Thailand-based human rights group, the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, the security forces told Win Shwe's family that he had died during interrogation.
